This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets the phosphorylated tyrosine 1214 residue of VEGFR2 (also known as Flk-1 or KDR), the principal receptor tyrosine kinase driving VEGF-mediated signaling in endothelial cells. By recognizing only the activated, phosphorylated form of VEGFR2, the reagent enables researchers to map angiogenic activation in tissue sections rather than measuring total receptor expression. The antibody is supplied by Antibodies.com as a 100 µl vial at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2.

Validated for immunohistochemistry (IHC), the antibody reacts with human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting comparative studies of tumor microvascular density, wound healing models, and developmental vasculogenesis. Phospho-Y1214 lies within the kinase activation loop, so staining intensity serves as a surrogate readout for receptor signaling output downstream of VEGF-A, VEGF-C, and related ligands. Researchers can pair this reagent with standard chromogenic detection systems, and the unconjugated format permits flexible labeling with HRP, biotin, or fluorophore conjugates of the user's choice.

Working with paraffin-embedded or frozen sections is supported, and aliquoting on first use is recommended to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles of the stock solution. Sodium azide in the buffer provides microbial protection, so downstream workflows that are sensitive to azide should incorporate a wash or exchange step before any coupling reaction.
