The Antibodies.com polyclonal reagent is raised against VEGFR2 (also known as Flk-1 in rodent and KDR in human), a type I transmembrane receptor tyrosine kinase that mediates endothelial cell proliferation, vascular permeability, and angiogenic signaling downstream of VEGF ligands. Affinity-purified from rabbit serum, it is formulated at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (pH 7.2) containing 0.05% sodium azide and is provided as a 50 µl vial.

Validated for western blot (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF), the antibody recognizes VEGFR2 in human, mouse, and rat samples, enabling cross-species work in tumor angiogenesis, retinal neovascularization, wound repair, and cardiovascular disease models. Being unconjugated, the reagent can be paired with the researcher's preferred HRP, biotin, Alexa Fluor, or other fluorophore-labeled secondary antibody for chromogenic or fluorescent detection.

For storage, refrigerate the vial upon arrival and aliquot as needed to limit freeze-thaw cycles; brief room-temperature handling during staining protocols is acceptable. The polyclonal format offers multi-epitope recognition that can strengthen signal in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections and in immunofluorescence imaging of cultured primary endothelial cells, where VEGFR2 clustering at the cell surface and intracellular compartments can be visualized.
