Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this Mouse/Tissue Culture Sup. monoclonal reagent targets Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) and is identified by the clone designation GV39M, originally raised by Brekken et al. and characterized for its selective binding to the VEGF:VEGFR-2 complex on tumor endothelium. Supplied as 1 ml of hybridoma tissue culture supernatant, the antibody is unconjugated and is of the Mouse IgM, kappa isotype, with monoclonal clonality, consistent with its parent hybridoma cell line (P3X63Ag8.653) registered in the Cellosaurus database (CVCL_KR34). The antibody was generated against Cavia porcellus VEGFA and cross-reacts with human and mouse VEGF, making it suitable for immunohistochemistry, ELISA, and Western blot studies of angiogenic tumor vasculature, where it has been widely used to mark VEGF-activated blood vessels. Long-term storage is recommended at +4°C, and the liquid supernatant format is intended for research use only. GV39M belongs to epitope group 1 along with 11B5 and shows high selectivity for VEGF bound to its receptor (Flk-1/KDR), as demonstrated in ELISA and in vivo localization studies on human tumor xenografts, distinguishing it from non-complex-selective VEGF antibodies. Each vial of this Antibodies.com catalog product provides the volume and host characteristics expected for hybridoma supernatant-derived monoclonal primary antibodies used in vascular biology and tumor angiogenesis research.
