Valosin-containing protein (VCP), also known as p97, is a conserved AAA+ family ATPase with central roles in ubiquitin-dependent proteasomal degradation, endoplasmic-reticulum-associated degradation (ERAD), and chromatin-associated nuclear processes. This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against VCP and recognizes the target across human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting cross-species comparative work.

The unconjugated antibody is supplied as 100 µL in a vial, allowing laboratories to pair it with user-preferred secondary labels, fluorophore conjugations, or chromogenic detection chemistries. Polyclonal reactivity toward multiple epitopes is well suited to western blot (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF) workflows commonly used in cell biology and neuroscience research investigating inclusion body myopathy with Paget disease and frontotemporal dementia (IBMPFD), ALS-linked pathology, and broader questions of protein homeostasis.

For handling, aliquot the antibody upon arrival to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles and store at -20°C; protect from light when handling to preserve any downstream conjugations. Working dilutions should be optimized empirically against each specific sample preparation and detection platform.
