Raised in rabbit, this unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets vascular cell adhesion molecule 1 (VCAM1, also referred to as CD106), a type I transmembrane sialoglycoprotein induced on vascular endothelium by pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α and IL-1β. The antibody has been validated in Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows and cross-reacts with human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting comparative studies in inflammation, vascular biology, transplant rejection, and tumor microenvironment research where VLA-4–mediated leukocyte rolling and firm adhesion are under investigation.

Each vial contains 50 µL of antibody supplied at 1 mg/mL in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide as a preservative and 50% glycerol for cryoprotection, allowing convenient handling and aliquoting for routine lab use. The unconjugated format gives researchers flexibility to pair the reagent with user-chosen reporter conjugates, biotinylation chemistries, or hapten labels, and to combine it with either chromogenic or fluorescence visualization in IHC.

Worked-up applications include profiling endothelial activation in atherosclerotic plaques, synovial tissue from rheumatoid arthritis models, allograft rejection sections, tumor vasculature, and leukocyte trafficking studies. The polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes on VCAM1, which is advantageous for detecting denatured target on Western blots and for broader sensitivity in tissue sections.
