UROD (Uroporphyrinogen Decarboxylase) is the fifth enzyme in the heme biosynthesis pathway, catalyzing the decarboxylation of uroporphyrinogen III to coproporphyrinogen III. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence applications across human, mouse, and rat samples.
Supplied as 100 µl at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the reagent is aliquoted and stored at -20°C for long-term stability; repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided. The polyclonal format offers recognition of multiple epitopes, supporting reproducible band detection in western blot and consistent cytoplasmic staining in IHC and IF workflows.
Researchers investigating porphyria cutanea tarda, hepatic heme biosynthesis, erythropoietic porphyrias, and the dermatological manifestations of porphyrin accumulation rely on robust UROD detection to map enzyme expression in liver and skin tissue. This vial-format reagent is intended for research use only.
