The urease beta subunit (ureB) of Helicobacter pylori is a nickel-dependent metalloenzyme responsible for hydrolyzing gastric urea into ammonia and carbon dioxide, creating a neutralized microenvironment that allows the pathogen to colonize the stomach. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com was raised against the ureB target and is supplied as a 100 µg aliquot suitable for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows. Researchers studying H. pylori virulence, gastric mucosal infection, or urease-based vaccine development rely on polyclonal anti-ureB antibodies to detect the approximately 62 kDa subunit band in bacterial lysates and infected tissue sections. The unconjugated format gives labs flexibility to conjugate the antibody to HRP, biotin, or fluorophores of their choice for chromogenic, fluorescence, or multiplexed detection. Store at -20°C in working aliquots to preserve activity and limit freeze-thaw cycles; the reagent is intended for research use only.
