This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets UPK3B (Uroplakin 3B), a transmembrane protein that belongs to the uroplakin family and contributes to the asymmetric unit membrane plaques characteristic of the urothelial lining of the urinary tract. Raised in Rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated IgG preparation, the reagent is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) applications on human samples and is packaged in a 200 µl volume.

UPK3B is expressed by superficial umbrella cells of the bladder and upper urinary tract epithelium, where it partners with other uroplakins (UPK1A, UPK1B, UPK2, and UPK3A) to assemble rigid crystalline plaques that reinforce the apical surface against the osmotic and mechanical stresses of urine storage. Investigators use anti-UPK3B reagents to map urothelial differentiation, characterize bladder cancer cell lines and tumour specimens, and study vesicoureteral reflux and other urinary tract pathologies in which uroplakin expression is altered.

For Western blot, the antibody is used to detect the UPK3B band in lysates from urothelial cultures and transfected expression systems. For IHC, it serves as a marker of mature urothelium on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections, supporting work on tissue architecture, regenerative models, and urothelial carcinoma diagnosis workflows.
