Rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com raised against human urokinase-type plasminogen activator (uPA), the serine protease encoded by the PLAU gene that cleaves plasminogen to plasmin and drives pericellular proteolysis in fibrinolysis and tissue remodeling. The reagent is supplied at 100 µl per vial as an unconjugated IgG preparation at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, ready for direct labeling or secondary detection workflows.

Validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human samples, the antibody detects endogenous uPA levels in cell lysates and fixed tissue sections. Because uPA and its receptor uPAR are implicated in tumor cell invasion, angiogenesis, and metastatic spread across multiple cancer types, this reagent is commonly deployed in oncology research to profile proteolytic activity, map expression in tumor and stromal compartments by IHC, and confirm expression changes by Western blot following genetic manipulation, inhibitor treatment, or stimulation with cytokines and growth factors.

As a polyclonal reagent raised in rabbit, the antibody recognizes multiple epitopes on the human uPA target, increasing the likelihood of detection across splice variants and proteolytic fragments. Aliquot upon first use to minimize freeze-thaw cycles, protect from light, and handle with appropriate sodium azide disposal precautions. For research use only; not intended for diagnostic procedures.
