Anti-UNG Antibody

Targeting uracil-DNA glycosylase (UNG), this rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated IgG and validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows, with confirmed reactivity against human and mouse samples.

UNG is a base excision repair enzyme that excises uracil residues from single- and double-stranded DNA, preserving genomic integrity. It also plays a central role in antibody gene diversification, supporting somatic hypermutation and class-switch recombination in activated B cells; loss-of-function mutations in the UNG gene are linked to hyper-IgM syndrome type 5. The reagent is therefore widely used in DNA repair, genome stability, and immunology research, including studies of B-cell maturation and lymphoid tissue architecture.

For western blot, the antibody detects an approximately 34 kDa UNG protein band, and for immunohistochemistry it is compatible with standard formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections following citrate-based antigen retrieval.
