Anti-UMPS Antibody

This unconjugated polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com was raised in rabbit against human UMP synthase, the bifunctional enzyme that catalyzes the final two steps of de novo pyrimidine biosynthesis by converting orotate to orotidine-5-monophosphate and then decarboxylating it to UMP. The reagent is supplied as 100 µl of antiserum and is validated for Western blot analysis of whole-cell lysates and for immunohistochemistry on paraffin-embedded tissue sections, supporting studies of nucleotide metabolism, orotic aciduria, and pyrimidine pathway dysregulation in cancer research. UMPS is a useful marker for probing proliferating cells and for investigating chemotherapeutic strategies that target nucleotide synthesis in human cell lines.
