Raised in rabbit and supplied by Antibodies.com as 100 µl of unconjugated polyclonal IgG, this primary antibody targets uromodulin, the GPI-anchored glycoprotein encoded by the UMOD gene. Uromodulin is the most abundant protein normally secreted into urine and is produced almost exclusively by epithelial cells of the thick ascending limb of the loop of Henle and the early distal convoluted tubule, making it a key marker for studies of renal tubular function and injury.

Validated for Western blot detection on human and mouse samples, the reagent supports research into autosomal dominant tubulointerstitial kidney disease caused by UMOD mutations (ADTKD-UMOD), salt-sensitive hypertension, urinary stone formation, and tubular injury in renal disease models. On Western blot, the mature glycoprotein resolves at approximately 80–90 kDa, with typical loading of 20–30 µg of kidney cortex lysate per lane.

For storage, aliquot the antibody upon arrival to limit freeze-thaw cycles and keep stock vials at -20 °C; thaw on ice immediately before use. Working aliquots intended for prompt use may be held short-term at 4 °C. Working concentration should be titrated against the specific detection substrate in use. This reagent is for research use only.
