This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets UGT2B7, a UDP-glucuronosyltransferase enzyme that catalyzes the transfer of glucuronic acid from UDP-glucuronic acid to a wide spectrum of acceptor substrates, including endogenous compounds such as bilirubin, steroid hormones, and fatty acids, alongside clinically important drugs including morphine, zidovudine, and several nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agents. UGT2B7 is expressed predominantly in hepatic and intestinal tissue, where it makes a major contribution to phase II drug metabolism and to interindividual variability in drug clearance.

Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum raised in rabbit and distributed by Antibodies.com, the reagent is validated for Western blot and immunofluorescence workflows on human samples. Researchers working on hepatic detoxification, drug metabolism, or pharmacogenomic variation can apply this polyclonal reagent to detect UGT2B7 protein in cell lysates and in fixed tissue sections. The product is provided in a vial format and should be stored refrigerated; small aliquots are recommended to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve antibody activity across repeated experiments.

Because the antibody is specific to the human UGT2B7 isoform and was raised against an immunogen derived from the human sequence, it is suited to translational studies of glucuronidation capacity, hepatotoxicity screening panels, and characterization of hepatic cell models that differ in their UGT2B7 expression levels.
