Raised in rabbit against the human UDP-glucuronosyltransferase 1A1 (UGT1A1) enzyme, this unconjugated polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is supplied as 100 µl of reagent and is validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows. UGT1A1 is the hepatic phase II conjugating enzyme responsible for bilirubin glucuronidation, and its reduced activity is associated with Gilbert syndrome and Crigler-Najjar type II, while polymorphisms such as UGT1A1*28 are clinically used to predict irinotecan toxicity risk. The reagent detects the endogenous protein in human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting comparative studies of hepatic detoxification, drug metabolism, and inherited unconjugated hyperbilirubinaemia research. On western blot of whole liver lysates, UGT1A1 migrates near 55 kDa under reducing SDS-PAGE conditions. Store refrigerated in the dark; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve activity. Intended for in vitro research use only and not for diagnostic procedures.
