Anti-UGCG Antibody

Polyclonal antibody raised in rabbit against UDP-glucose ceramide glucosyltransferase (UGCG), the Golgi-resident membrane enzyme that catalyzes the committed step of glycosphingolipid biosynthesis by transferring glucose from UDP-glucose to ceramide. Supplied by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated IgG preparation at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, in a 100 µl vial intended for Western blot detection of the endogenous human, mouse, and rat enzyme. The reagent supports studies of sphingolipid metabolism, ceramide trafficking, and glycosphingolipid-mediated signaling in cell biology and neuroscience research, and is commonly used to monitor UGCG expression under conditions that perturb membrane lipid homeostasis, including pharmacological inhibition by iminosugar analogs such as eliglustat and miglustat.
