Urocortin 2 (UCN2) is a 38-amino acid neuropeptide of the corticotropin-releasing factor family, expressed in the central nervous system and in peripheral tissues including the heart, adrenal glands, and gastrointestinal tract. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent was raised against the human UCN2 peptide and is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows, enabling visualization of endogenous UCN2 protein in cell and tissue sections.

Provided by Antibodies.com as a 100 µl vial at 1 mg/ml, the antibody is supplied in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant to preserve activity during storage at -20 °C. The polyclonal format yields recognition of multiple epitopes across the UCN2 sequence, which is particularly useful for detecting low-abundance targets in cardiac and neural tissue lysates.

UCN2 signals selectively through the CRF2 receptor and has been investigated for its roles in cardiovascular stress responses, appetite regulation, and energy homeostasis. Researchers studying GPCR signaling, stress axis biology, or cardiac peptide expression use this reagent to map UCN2 distribution in human samples. The unconjugated format allows flexible secondary antibody pairing for chromogenic, fluorescent, or chemiluminescent detection. Aliquoting upon first use is recommended to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles and maintain consistent titer across experiments.
