Anti-UBQLN1 Antibody

The Antibodies.com polyclonal antibody reagent specifically recognizes human Ubiquilin-1 (UBQLN1), a ubiquitin-like shuttle protein that ferries polyubiquitinated substrates to the proteasome for degradation. Raised in rabbit, this unconjugated immunoglobulin is supplied as a 100 µl liquid aliquot and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human-derived samples. The reagent detects the full-length UBQLN1 isoform, which localizes to both the cytoplasm and the nucleus and participates in ER-associated degradation, cell-cycle progression, and the cellular response to proteotoxic stress.

UBQLN1 is widely studied in the context of neurodegenerative disease, particularly Alzheimer disease, where it modulates presenilin protein stability and amyloid precursor protein processing. Investigators apply this reagent to map UBQLN1 expression in post-mortem brain tissue by immunohistochemistry and to monitor expression changes or aggregation behavior by Western blot across neuronal, glial, and peripheral cell models. Because the antibody is polyclonal, it targets multiple epitopes across the UBQLN1 sequence, increasing the likelihood of detecting the protein even when conformational masking or post-translational modification is present.
