The polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets Ubiquitin-like protein ISG15, a ubiquitin-like modifier that is rapidly upregulated by type I interferon signaling and conjugated to cellular substrates through ISGylation. Raised in rabbit, this unconjugated reagent is supplied as a 100 µg vial and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human samples, supporting studies of innate antiviral immunity, interferon pathway activation, and the role of ubiquitin-like modification in viral restriction and tumor immune surveillance.

ISG15 is one of the most strongly induced interferon-stimulated genes and is widely used as a marker of an active type I interferon response. Researchers apply this reagent to probe endogenous ISG15 levels in cell lysates, examine ISGylation patterns in primary tissues, and characterize how viruses evade host ubiquitin-like conjugation systems. In immunohistochemistry applications, the antibody enables visualization of ISG15-expressing cells in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections, providing spatial context for interferon signaling within tumor microenvironments, placental tissue during early pregnancy, and inflammatory lesions where ISG15 is known to accumulate.

Each lot is affinity-purified from rabbit serum and should be stored refrigerated upon arrival. For long-term use, aliquoting is recommended to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles. The reagent is intended for research use only and has not been validated for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
