Ubiquitin is a small (~8.5 kDa) regulatory protein that tags cellular substrates through post-translational modification, directing many of them toward proteasomal degradation while also modulating signaling, vesicular trafficking, and DNA repair pathways. This recombinant monoclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and supplied as a 100 µl unconjugated liquid preparation buffered in 1×TBS (pH 7.4) with 1% BSA, 40% glycerol, and 0.05% sodium azide as preservative.
The antibody is validated for western blot, immunocytochemistry and immunofluorescence (ICC/IF), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and flow cytometry (FC) applications, with confirmed reactivity against human, mouse, and rat samples. Researchers use it to study protein turnover, aggregate clearance, K48- and K63-linked polyubiquitin chains, and the role of the ubiquitin-proteasome system in neurodegeneration, cancer biology, and viral host-pathogen interactions. As an unconjugated primary antibody, it pairs cleanly with secondary reporter labeling of choice (HRP, fluorophores, biotin) for flexible assay design.
