Anti-UBE2W Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 W, a ~16 kDa member of the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family that transfers activated ubiquitin from E1 to substrate proteins. Uniquely among E2 enzymes, UBE2W uses an N-terminal catalytic cysteine rather than the more common C-terminal active site, and it has been characterized in published studies for its role in monoubiquitinating FANCD2 during the DNA damage response and for its contribution to spermatogenesis. The antibody is supplied unconjugated as a 200 µl IgG preparation in a vial, validated for Western Blot and immunohistochemistry on Human and Mouse samples. Because the polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes, it is well suited to detecting endogenous UBE2W expression in whole-cell lysates and fixed tissue sections, including testis, neural, and lymphoid tissues where the protein is reported to be expressed.
