UBE2J2 (Ubiquitin Conjugating Enzyme E2 J2) is an endoplasmic reticulum-resident E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme that participates in ER-associated degradation (ERAD) and supports protein quality control by transferring ubiquitin onto misfolded substrates destined for proteasomal clearance. Antibodies.com offers this reagent as a rabbit polyclonal antibody raised against the human target, provided as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry on human and mouse specimens.

The reagent detects a membrane-anchored conjugating enzyme that has been characterized in studies of MHC class I heavy-chain turnover, cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) quality control at the ER membrane, and unfolded-protein-response signaling in stressed cells. Researchers have used UBE2J2 antibodies to investigate apoptosis regulation, viral co-option of host ubiquitination machinery, and disposal of misfolded membrane proteins in cancer cell lines. The polyclonal host response enables recognition of multiple epitopes, supporting consistent signal in denatured lysates and in fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections.

For best results, refrigerate the vial and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles by preparing working aliquots on arrival.
