Description

A rabbit polyclonal antibody to UBE2D1, supplied by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated primary antibody validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC). The antibody was raised against recombinant full-length human UBE2D1 and specifically detects endogenous levels of UBE2D1 protein. Reactivity has been confirmed in human, mouse and rat samples, and the isotype is IgG.

UBE2D1 belongs to the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family. Ubiquitination is a cellular mechanism that targets abnormal or short-lived proteins for degradation and involves at least three classes of enzymes: ubiquitin-activating enzymes (E1s), ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes (E2s) and ubiquitin-protein ligases (E3s). UBE2D1 is closely related to a stimulator of iron transport (SFT) and is up-regulated in hereditary hemochromatosis. It also functions in the ubiquitination of the tumour-suppressor protein p53 and the hypoxia-inducible transcription factor HIF1alpha by interacting with E1 ubiquitin-activating enzymes and E3 ubiquitin-protein ligases. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.

The antibody is affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen, with a purity greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE. The target has a molecular weight of approximately 17 kDa. The product is formulated at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, and is supported by one scientific validation image.
