Tyrosinase (TYR) is a copper-dependent oxidase that catalyzes the rate-limiting steps in melanin biosynthesis, converting L-tyrosine to L-DOPA and L-DOPA to DOPAquinone. Polyclonal antibodies raised against TYR are essential tools in studies of melanocyte biology, pigmentation disorders such as oculocutaneous albinism type I, vitiligo, and melanoma pathogenesis and diagnostics.
This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows on human samples. The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of liquid and can be applied directly in standard immunostaining and immunoblotting protocols. Investigators studying melanocyte differentiation, melanosome biogenesis, or screening melanoma cell lines and tissue biopsies rely on anti-TYR antibodies to identify pigment-producing cells within mixed cell populations.
