Mitochondrial thioredoxin reductase 2 (TXNRD2) can be detected in human, mouse, and rat samples using this unconjugated rabbit polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com. Supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the reagent is provided in a 100 µl vial and supports routine western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows. The polyclonal response allows recognition of the mature mitochondrial isoform across multiple species and sample types.

TXNRD2 is a selenocysteine-containing flavoenzyme localized to the mitochondrial matrix, where it partners with mitochondrial thioredoxin (Trx2) and peroxiredoxin 3 to scavenge reactive oxygen species and maintain protein dithiol/disulfide balance. Investigators studying mitochondrial dysfunction, neurodegeneration, cardiac stress responses, or redox biology use this reagent to probe endogenous protein levels in cell lysates, isolated mitochondria, and paraformaldehyde-fixed tissue sections.

Store refrigerated in the supplied glycerol buffer; for longer-term storage, aliquot and freeze to minimize repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Intended for research use only, in vitro applications include western blot and immunohistochemistry on relevant biological specimens.
