This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets TUFM (Tu Translation Elongation Factor, Mitochondrial), a nuclear-encoded GTPase that catalyzes peptide chain elongation during protein synthesis within the mitochondrial matrix. Distributed by Antibodies.com as part of their Primary Antibodies portfolio, the reagent is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum, validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human samples.

TUFM supports mitochondrial translation of the 13 oxidative phosphorylation subunits encoded by mitochondrial DNA, and the antibody enables detection of endogenous TUFM protein levels in cell lysates and formalin-fixed tissue sections. Researchers investigating mitochondrial biogenesis, mitophagy regulation, metabolic reprogramming in cancer, and host-pathogen interactions during RNA virus infection have used TUFM-specific antibodies to probe expression changes and subcellular distribution across experimental models.

As a polyclonal reagent raised in rabbit, the antibody recognizes multiple epitopes across the human TUFM protein, providing robustness when target abundance is low or when denatured samples are being analyzed. Store the vial refrigerated at 2-8 degrees C and minimize freeze-thaw cycles by aliquoting upon first use. The unconjugated format allows flexible pairing with HRP, biotin, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies to match individual experimental designs on western blot membranes and IHC-stained slides.
