Raised in Rabbit against Tubulin Gamma Complex Protein 2 (TUBGCP2), this unconjugated polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets a core scaffolding subunit of the γ-tubulin ring complex (γTuRC) that nucleates microtubule assembly at centrosomes and is required for bipolar mitotic spindle formation. Supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 15 mM sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, the reagent is packaged as a 100 µl vial and validated for Western blot detection of endogenous TUBGCP2 in Human, Mouse, and Rat lysates.

Research applications include investigation of centrosome duplication, mitotic fidelity, and microtubule cytoskeleton dynamics. Because γTuRC integrity depends on the GCP2–GCP3 heterodimer interface, this reagent is commonly used to assess γTuRC composition, track centrosomal maturation through the cell cycle, and probe how TUBGCP2 abundance or post-translational modification changes in cancer cell lines, neural progenitors, and model organism tissues. The polyclonal format recognises multiple epitopes on the target, which is useful when a single monoclonal might miss conformational or splice-variant differences.

For Western blot, dilute the antibody in blocking buffer according to the abundance of TUBGCP2 in your lysate, and incubate membranes with gentle agitation. Aliquot on receipt to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and refrigerate the working dilution for repeated use. The included sodium azide protects the working dilution from microbial contamination during extended benchtop use.
