The Antibodies.com polyclonal rabbit antibody targets TUBG1, the gene encoding gamma-tubulin, a core pericentriolar component responsible for microtubule nucleation and proper mitotic spindle assembly. Raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated IgG at 200 µL, this reagent is validated for Western blot detection of endogenous human gamma-tubulin in cell lysate and tissue extract samples.

TUBG1 localizes to the centrosome and is required for organizing the microtubule cytoskeleton through duplication and maturation of the pericentriolar material. Researchers studying cell division, chromosome segregation, and cytokinesis rely on robust gamma-tubulin detection to monitor centrosome copy number, spindle pole recruitment, and microtubule regrowth after nocodazole washout.

Beyond fundamental cell biology, the antibody supports translational work on cortical development disorders, since rare TUBG1 missense variants have been linked to malformations of cortical development and lissencephaly-spectrum phenotypes, as well as oncology studies where elevated gamma-tubulin levels have been reported in proliferating tumor cells. It is also useful as a normalization reference alongside alpha- and beta-tubulin antibodies when probing cytoskeletal fractions. Provided as a liquid polyclonal antiserum fraction intended for research use only, the antibody should be aliquoted upon arrival to limit freeze-thaw cycles.
