Raised in rabbit against the platelet- and megakaryocyte-enriched beta-tubulin isoform encoded by TUBB1, this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com supports western blot analysis of cell and tissue lysates from human, mouse, and rat samples. The unconjugated IgG is supplied at 1 mg/mL in phosphate buffered saline with 15 mM sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, in a 100 µL vial that dilutes cleanly into standard blocking and wash buffers for immunoblotting. Because TUBB1 is the hematopoietic-specific tubulin beta-1 class VI protein that drives proplatelet formation and microtubule organization in megakaryocytes, the antibody is well matched to studies of platelet biogenesis, cytoskeletal remodeling during thrombopoiesis, and disease models involving macrothrombocytopenia linked to TUBB1 variation. Aliquot upon first thaw, store refrigerated to preserve activity, and protect from light between uses; the 15 mM sodium azide in the formulation limits microbial contamination during routine benchtop handling.
