Transthyretin (TTR) is a thyroid hormone-binding and retinol-transport protein implicated in familial amyloid polyneuropathy, senile systemic amyloidosis, and hereditary transthyretin amyloidosis with cardiomyopathy. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against the TTR target and validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples. Supplied as 50 µl of a 1 mg/ml stock in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the antibody is formulated for dilution into standard blocking buffers and ready for direct incorporation into immunodetection protocols. Polyclonal reactivity broadens epitope coverage across wild-type and variant transthyretin species, including amyloidogenic mutants commonly studied in cardiac, hepatic, and neural tissue. The unconjugated format permits downstream coupling to fluorophores, biotin, or HRP in user-defined detection assays. Researchers studying protein misfolding, biomarker discovery, and tissue distribution of transthyretin under normal and disease conditions will find this reagent useful for both lysate-based Western blot and fixed-section IHC applications.
