Raised in rabbit against the alpha-tocopherol transfer protein, this unconjugated polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as 200 µl of antibody optimized for western blot detection of the human target. TTPA is a cytosolic lipid transfer protein of approximately 32 kDa that shuttles alpha-tocopherol, the most biologically active form of vitamin E, between intracellular membranes, with strongest expression in hepatocytes and cerebellar Purkinje cells.
Investigators studying vitamin E metabolism, oxidative stress responses, and inherited neurodegenerative disorders such as ataxia with vitamin E deficiency use this antibody to probe TTPA abundance and subcellular distribution in human cell and tissue lysates. The polyclonal format provides multi-epitope coverage on denatured western blot membranes, where a single monoclonal epitope may be masked by secondary structure or post-translational modification.
