A rabbit monoclonal Primary Antibody from Antibodies.com, this reagent targets the 18 kDa translocator protein (TSPO), a highly conserved outer mitochondrial membrane protein widely used as a marker of microglial activation in neuroinflammation research and as a binding target in preclinical PET imaging studies of the brain.

Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated IgG, the antibody is validated across Western blot, immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunoprecipitation (IP) workflows. Western blot detection supports examination of full-length TSPO expression in cell and tissue lysates, while IHC and IF applications allow visualization of mitochondrial TSPO distribution in fixed brain sections, including studies of activated microglia in neurodegenerative and neurotrauma models. Immunoprecipitation capability enables enrichment of native TSPO complexes from lysates for downstream mass spectrometry or interaction studies.

Reactivity is confirmed in human and mouse samples, covering the two species most commonly used in neurodegenerative, neurotrauma, and psychiatric disease research where TSPO upregulation is monitored as a surrogate of microglial response. The rabbit IgG isotype and monoclonal format support lot-to-lot consistency in indirect detection workflows that pair this antibody with anti-rabbit secondary reagents.

For routine handling, aliquot the antibody upon first thaw to limit freeze-thaw cycles, store at -20 °C in working volumes, and protect from light to preserve activity across multiple experiments. Intended for research use only.
