Tuberous Sclerosis Complex 1 (TSC1), also called Hamartin, partners with TSC2 to inhibit mTORC1 signaling and regulate cell growth, proliferation, and autophagy. This monoclonal antibody from Antibodies.com, clone #A0721, is raised in mouse hosts as an IgG isotype reagent supplied unconjugated in a 100 µl volume, and is validated for Western blot detection of the endogenous TSC1 protein.

The reagent shows reactivity with both human and mouse samples, supporting cross-species studies of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway. Researchers use it to probe Hamartin expression in tuberous sclerosis research, cancer cell lines where TSC1 loss drives hyperactive mTOR signaling, and metabolic or neurological disease models. Because the antibody is unconjugated, it pairs readily with HRP- or fluorophore-tagged secondary reagents for chemiluminescent or fluorescent Western blot workflows.

For Western blot, samples are typically prepared in standard lysis buffer, resolved by SDS-PAGE, and transferred to nitrocellulose or PVDF membranes prior to probing. The unconjugated format also allows downstream customization with user-selected labels when needed. Aliquot upon receipt and store refrigerated to minimize freeze-thaw cycles and preserve antibody activity through repeated use.
