This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets Trypsin-1, also known as cationic trypsinogen or PRSS1, a serine protease synthesized by pancreatic acinar cells as an inactive zymogen and activated in the duodenum for protein digestion. Beyond its digestive role, Trypsin-1 is of clinical interest because gain-of-function mutations in the PRSS1 gene are linked to hereditary and chronic pancreatitis, making reliable detection of this enzyme relevant for both basic pancreatic biology and disease-related research.

The reagent is raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated preparation at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant. The 100 µl vial provides enough material for multiple western blot and immunohistochemistry experiments. Validation on human, mouse, and rat samples supports cross-species use in tissue lysates, pancreatic sections, and cell-based models.

Recommended applications include western blot for protein-level detection and immunohistochemistry for localizing expression in pancreatic acinar cells and related tissue. For short-term use, store refrigerated; for longer storage, aliquot and freeze the vial to preserve reactivity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles and protect from light. Research use only.
