Raised in rabbit against the TRPM7 channel-kinase, this unconjugated IgG polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as 200 µl of affinity-purified antiserum and is validated for Western blot detection of the full-length ~220 kDa mouse target in cell lysates and tissue homogenates.

TRPM7 (also called ChaK1, LTRPC7, or TRP-PLIK) is a bifunctional membrane protein that combines a non-selective divalent-cation channel conducting Ca2+ and Mg2+ with a C-terminal alpha-kinase domain. The kinase phosphorylates alpha-helical substrates including annexin A1 at Ser5 and the myosin IIA heavy chain at Thr1800, Ser1803, and Ser1808, coupling channel activity to actomyosin cytoskeletal remodeling, cell migration, and magnesium homeostasis.

For best results, store refrigerated and minimize freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity. Researchers commonly apply this reagent to investigate TRPM7 contributions to T-cell development, vascular biology, epithelial ion transport, and tumor cell migration in mouse models.
