From Antibodies.com, this monoclonal antibody recognizes an epitope spanning amino acids 81-100 of cardiac troponin I, the inhibitory subunit of the troponin complex that regulates calcium-dependent contraction in striated muscle. Raised in mouse and of the IgG1, kappa isotype, the antibody is supplied at 1 mg per vial as a Protein A purified immunoglobulin in unconjugated form for direct application as a capture or detection reagent in ELISA-based workflows.

Troponin I is released from damaged cardiomyocytes and is widely measured as a circulating biomarker of myocardial injury in both clinical diagnostics and cardiovascular research. The 81-100 region lies within a portion of the molecule that remains accessible after the protein enters circulation, and antibodies raised against this stretch are commonly used to track intact troponin I and its stable fragments in blood-based samples. Because the reagent is unconjugated, end users can couple it to HRP, biotin, or a fluorophore of choice, or apply it directly as a primary antibody for coating plates and probing cardiac tissue lysates.
