Raised in rabbit against the alpha isoform of tropomyosin, this unconjugated polyclonal reagent binds a conserved actin-associated protein best known for its role in striated muscle contraction and cytoskeletal regulation. The antibody is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a stabiliser, and is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples.
Typical uses include mapping thin-filament architecture in cardiac and skeletal tissue, characterising cytoskeletal rearrangements during cellular differentiation, and probing cell motility in migration studies. Each vial from Antibodies.com contains 100 µl of stock that can be diluted into assay buffer, best stored at -20 °C with minimal freeze-thaw cycles. Aliquoting on first use preserves activity across repeated experiments.
