This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets the tropomyosin receptor kinase A (TrkA), the high-affinity nerve growth factor (NGF) receptor encoded by NTRK1. Raised in rabbit, the antibody is supplied as 100 µl of an unconjugated preparation at approximately 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide at roughly pH 7.2, packaged in a vial. The reagent is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human and rat tissue and cell samples.

TrkA is a single-pass transmembrane receptor tyrosine kinase widely studied in neuroscience and oncology. In neural biology, it drives sympathetic neuron survival, nociceptive signaling, and developmental patterning of the peripheral nervous system. In cancer research, NTRK1 alterations, including activating point mutations and gene fusions, have been reported in papillary thyroid carcinoma, non-small cell lung cancer, colorectal tumors, and pediatric neuroblastoma, making TrkA a useful marker for tumor characterization studies and for screening tumors with NTRK pathway involvement.

The polyclonal format allows recognition of multiple epitopes on the full-length receptor as well as common proteolytic fragments generated during TrkA ectodomain shedding and regulated intramembrane proteolysis, supporting reproducible detection across overexpression and endogenous expression systems. Store refrigerated; for longer-term storage, aliquot the stock and freeze, limiting freeze-thaw cycles of the antibody. Protect from light. Intended for research use only as a primary antibody.
