The polyclonal reagent raised in rabbit specifically recognizes human Transferrin, an approximately 80 kDa iron-binding glycoprotein responsible for ferric iron transport through the bloodstream and cellular uptake via receptor-mediated endocytosis. Produced primarily by hepatocytes, Transferrin also participates in immune modulation, oxidative stress response, and growth signaling, and altered circulating levels are observed in iron deficiency anemia, inflammation, hepatic disease, and certain malignancies.
