Raised in rabbit against the mast-cell serine protease TPSG1 (tryptase gamma 1), this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com supports Western blot detection of the target in lysates derived from human, mouse, and rat tissues. TPSG1 is a granule-resident tryptase expressed predominantly by mast cells, where it sits alongside the better-characterized alpha and beta tryptases (TPSAB1 and TPSB2) and contributes to the protease activity stored in secretory granules. Because of this restricted expression pattern, antibodies raised against TPSG1 are useful to researchers investigating mast cell biology, mucosal immunity, allergic inflammation, and conditions such as asthma, urticaria, and systemic mastocytosis, where tryptase expression and granule composition are of interest.

Each vial is supplied as 100 µl of antibody at 1 mg/ml in Phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide as preservative, at approximately pH 7.8. The unconjugated format allows end-users to couple the antibody to their preferred fluorophore, biotin, or HRP depending on the Western blot detection chemistry in use; sodium azide should be removed by buffer exchange before any amine-reactive conjugation, since azide interferes with those chemistries. As a polyclonal reagent, the antibody recognizes multiple epitopes on TPSG1, which often improves signal strength in Western blot compared with monoclonal alternatives and tolerates minor denaturation of the target.

This reagent is supplied for research use only and has not been validated for diagnostic or therapeutic applications. Storage at -20 °C in small aliquots is recommended to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve long-term activity; the PBS-azide formulation remains liquid at 4 °C for short-term working use.
