Primary antibody targeting TPH2 (tryptophan hydroxylase 2), the rate-limiting enzyme in central nervous system serotonin biosynthesis. This unconjugated, rabbit-derived polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows on human samples.
Each vial is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a stabilising agent, shipped as a 100 µl aliquot suitable for repeated experiments. Storage at -20 °C in working aliquots is recommended to limit freeze-thaw cycles of the glycerol-containing stock.
TPH2 is predominantly expressed in the dorsal and median raphe nuclei, where it governs neuronal serotonin production and has been investigated in studies of mood regulation, depression, and related neurological research. The polyclonal format offers multiple epitope recognition, which is often preferred for detecting low-abundance neuronal markers in fixed tissue sections and cultured cell preparations.
