Anti-tPA Antibody

This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against tissue plasminogen activator (tPA), the serine protease encoded by the PLAT gene that converts plasminogen to plasmin and drives fibrinolysis. Supplied as 100 µl at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the antibody is intended for research use only in western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples. In western blot the reagent labels the characteristic tPA band of approximately 70 kDa, allowing comparison of full-length and proteolytically processed forms in endothelial and neuronal lysates, while on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue it highlights vascular endothelium, smooth muscle, and tPA-expressing neurons relevant to ischemic stroke, vascular remodeling, and blood-brain barrier studies. Aliquot on receipt to limit freeze-thaw cycles and store at -20°C or colder; working aliquots tolerate short-term use at 4°C. Working concentration should be titrated per application, with starting dilutions in the 0.5-2 µg/ml range as a reference point. The unconjugated format leaves detection chemistry open, allowing the user to pair the primary with HRP, fluorescent, or biotin secondary systems as required by the experiment.
