Supplied as a 100 µl vial of unconjugated rabbit IgG, this polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com binds DNA Topoisomerase I (TOP1), the type IB nuclear enzyme that relaxes torsional stress during replication, transcription, and chromatin remodeling. The reagent is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunoprecipitation workflows on human and mouse samples, detecting endogenous levels of total TOP1 protein.

Applied in chromatin biology and DNA metabolism research, the antibody supports oncology studies of camptothecin-class chemotherapeutics such as irinotecan and topotecan, whose cytotoxic mechanism depends on TOP1 catalytic activity. In immunology and rheumatology, the same target is the antigen recognized by anti-Scl-70 autoantibodies, an established serological marker for diffuse systemic sclerosis, so the antibody is also applied to characterize those autoantibody responses.
