Connective tissue disorder research relies on reliable detection of the extracellular matrix glycoprotein tenascin-XB (TNXB). TNXB maps within the MHC class III locus on chromosome 6p21.3, and biallelic loss-of-function mutations in this gene cause classical-like Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (clEDS2). Reduced TNXB expression is also associated with additional connective tissue phenotypes, making TNXB detection a valuable tool in both genetic and histological studies.

This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com was raised against human TNXB and is reactive with the human protein. It is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry applications. The unconjugated format gives end users the flexibility to attach their preferred reporter — HRP, biotin, or a fluorophore — depending on the detection chemistry their experiment requires.

The reagent is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide as preservative and 50% glycerol as cryoprotectant, packaged as a 100 µl vial. For Western blot, suitable samples include fibroblast cultures, dermal biopsies, or other TNXB-expressing tissues. In IHC, staining of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded dermal or vascular sections can highlight extracellular matrix deposition patterns relevant to connective tissue studies.

Storage at -20°C in working aliquots is recommended to limit activity loss across repeated freeze-thaw cycles. The polyclonal format offers broad epitope recognition, useful when investigating TNXB variants or processing intermediates.
