This unconjugated mouse monoclonal antibody targets TNFRSF10B, the death receptor 5 (DR5) protein also referred to as TRAIL-R2, and is supplied by Antibodies.com as a purified immunoglobulin in 100 µl of 0.1M Tris-Glycine buffer (pH 7.4) containing 150 mM NaCl, 0.2% sodium azide, and 50% glycerol. DR5 is a TNF receptor superfamily member that binds TRAIL and recruits FADD and caspase-8 to trigger the extrinsic apoptosis cascade, and altered DR5 expression is studied in tumor cell lines, patient-derived xenografts, and tissue specimens where resistance to TRAIL-induced cell death is being investigated. Validated applications include Western blot for detecting endogenous and overexpressed DR5 in whole-cell lysates and immunocytochemistry for visualizing receptor distribution on fixed cultured cells. The reagent cross-reacts with both human and mouse TNFRSF10B, supporting parallel experiments across syngeneic and xenograft model systems, and the supplied 50% glycerol formulation allows storage at -20 °C with minimal freeze-thaw damage for routine bench use. Researchers evaluating death-receptor signaling, TRAIL sensitivity screens, or combination regimens that sensitize cancer cells to apoptosis can use this reagent for target verification, expression profiling, and downstream mechanistic studies.
