Antibodies.com offers a rabbit polyclonal antibody raised against TMPRSS5 (Transmembrane Serine Protease 5, also called Spinesin), a member of the type II transmembrane serine protease (TTSP) family. TMPRSS5 is expressed predominantly in the central nervous system, where it localizes to motor neurons of the spinal cord and to several discrete brain regions, and it has been studied in the context of neural development, motor neuron maintenance, and cell-surface proteolytic processing.

This unconjugated polyclonal reagent is supplied as 100 µl of liquid and has been validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows on human samples. The host is rabbit, the clonality is polyclonal, the conjugate is unconjugated, and the species reactivity is human. For long-term storage, aliquot the antibody and store at -20°C, avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light when not in use. This reagent is intended for research use only.

Researchers can deploy this antibody in studies of TTSP family biology, motor neuron gene expression profiling, and cell-surface protease activity in neural tissue. In IHC, the expected staining pattern is cytoplasmic and membrane-associated, matching TMPRSS5's reported subcellular distribution, while Western blot allows detection of the protease band in cell and tissue lysates prepared under reducing conditions.
