Raised in rabbit as a polyclonal antibody against Transketolase (TKT), the thiamine-dependent enzyme that connects glycolysis to the non-oxidative branch of the pentose phosphate pathway. This unconjugated reagent is supplied by Antibodies.com as a 50 µl aliquot at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, ready to use in Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples.

TKT catalyzes two-carbon glycolaldehyde transfers between sugar phosphates, supplying ribose-5-phosphate for nucleotide biosynthesis and contributing to NADPH balance during oxidative stress. The polyclonal antibody recognizes the endogenous protein in tissue cryosections, formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded specimens, and immunoblots of whole-cell lysates. Common research applications include studies of tumor metabolic reprogramming in colorectal and hepatocellular carcinoma models, PPP flux analysis, and investigations linking TKT expression to thiamine status and redox homeostasis. Store the glycerol-containing stock at -20 degrees C, protected from light, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve reactivity. For research use only.
