This polyclonal primary antibody targets TIMP3 (Tissue Inhibitor of Metalloproteinases 3), a matrix-bound regulator of MMP activity implicated in extracellular matrix remodeling, angiogenesis, and inflammatory signaling. Produced in rabbit and supplied by Antibodies.com at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the reagent is unconjugated and validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows across human, mouse, and rat samples.

TIMP3 is distinctive among TIMP family members because it binds tightly to the extracellular matrix rather than diffusing freely, giving it a central role in restraining pericellular proteolysis by MMPs as well as ADAM and ADAMTS family enzymes. Researchers use this antibody to probe tissue remodeling in fibrosis models, retinal disease research (TIMP3 mutations underlie Sorsby fundus dystrophy), tumor microenvironment studies, and vascular biology. The 100 µl vial size supports multiple staining or blotting experiments, and the glycerol-containing buffer is suited to standard -20 °C storage with minimal freeze-thaw cycling to preserve antibody activity.
