TIMP2 (Tissue Inhibitor of Metalloproteinases 2) is a secreted 21 kDa glycoprotein that regulates matrix metalloproteinase activity and modulates cell signaling pathways involved in proliferation and apoptosis. This polyclonal antibody, raised in rabbit and supplied by Antibodies.com, recognizes TIMP2 in human, mouse, and rat samples and is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows. Each vial contains 100 µl of unconjugated antibody, supporting detection of endogenous TIMP2 expression on PVDF or nitrocellulose western blot membranes as well as in fixed tissue sections. Investigators studying extracellular matrix remodeling, tumor invasion, organ fibrosis, and neurodegenerative pathways rely on TIMP2 detection to monitor MMP regulatory balance in tissue lysates and primary cell cultures. The polyclonal format offers recognition of multiple epitopes on the TIMP2 protein, enabling consistent signal across denaturing and mildly native sample preparations.
