This rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com recognizes TIA1, a 43 kDa RNA-binding protein best known for driving stress granule nucleation and translational silencing when cells are exposed to oxidative, viral, or thermal stress. The unconjugated stock is supplied as 100 µl ready-to-use aliquot and has been validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples.

Beyond core stress granule biology, the antibody is widely used in apoptosis research and splicing regulation studies, where TIA1 redistributes from the nucleus to cytoplasmic aggregates under stress. In diagnostic surgical pathology, TIA1 staining is a routine immunohistochemical marker for cytotoxic T-cell and natural killer cell lineage, and the granular cytoplasmic pattern in tumor cells helps pathologists distinguish classic Hodgkin lymphoma from anaplastic large cell lymphoma subtypes. Neuroscience groups also rely on clean TIA1 detection in motor neurons, because point mutations in the TIA1 prion-like domain have been linked to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and to Welander distal myopathy, both of which perturb stress granule dynamics and RNA metabolism.

Because the polyclonal format targets multiple epitopes, the reagent tolerates aldehyde fixation and antigen masking better than most monoclonals, making it a strong choice for archival paraffin sections. Pair with HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies for chromogenic IHC, immunoblotting, or fluorescence imaging. For storage, aliquot the stock and freeze immediately; limit freeze-thaw cycles, and keep working dilutions refrigerated for short-term use only.
