Goat-derived polyclonal antiserum raised against human Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH), supplied by Antibodies.com as neat serum in a 1 ml volume. The unconjugated antibody is intended for ELISA-based detection of TSH, a 28 kDa glycoprotein heterodimer composed of a shared alpha subunit and a hormone-specific beta subunit that is synthesized and secreted by thyrotroph cells of the anterior pituitary.

Because the reagent recognizes the intact TSH heterodimer, it is useful for research applications such as thyroid axis studies, pituitary cell culture investigations, and characterization of recombinant glycoprotein expression. The polyclonal format provides recognition of multiple epitopes across both subunits, which can be advantageous when detecting conformational epitopes that are lost upon subunit dissociation.

Recommended storage is at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles of the polyclonal serum. The unconjugated format gives flexibility for downstream labeling with enzymes, fluorophores, or biotin depending on the chosen assay platform, and the neat serum presentation preserves the natural antibody population without losses associated with purification steps.
